CRAPPY SCAN! My paper wasn't heavy enough for the water in the ink...so it got wrinkly aaaaand the scan turned out crappy, BUT I won't scan it ANYMORE!!! 6 tries is enough for me to realize it won't get any better than this, so I don't want to hear it...

Ok, first off Nightmares and Fairy Tales is not mine! The stories are original versions by Serena Valentino of past fairy tales along with some orignal tales completely from her as well. And the artwork is by the geniuses of FSc.

This is little Snow White. This tale isn't like the regular tale of Snow White, especially not the Disney version...SOOOO I suggest going out and getting by means of buying (which I suggest...) or downloading if you are into that, and reading these lovely, gory, amazing works of horror-comic mastery. And just so ya know, if you need some famous or important influence besides just some random person to get you to go read these, Jhonen Vasquez full heartedly supports these, even did some fanart for her and she has it in the back of the first issue. As well as Roman Dirge, he did a cute fanart pic too which is also in the back of the first issue after Jhonen's. If you don't know who those two are...you're fired...

Art by me, but it is an image from the comics. Before each new story FSc does a coolio silhouette like picture, and this is the one for little Snow White. My sister asked me to see if I could draw it and here it is! This is the original that I did mine from. Because if you are a friend of mine and you know this I am MUCH better at doing things I see in front of me rather than things I see in my own brain. :aww:

This is really cool. I like how simplistic it is, that really lets you fill in the gaps and sucks you in. Also, it draws attention to the images such as her bleeding heart. Very good. Watercolor, isn't it?

Yeah, when I started drawing it I thought it would be hard, but when I analyzed to really get it down before I put pencil to paper I realized it was rather simple. The drips gave me a little problems beucause I'm anal and had to have them as close to perfect as I could ;).
Done in ink actually. It's my recently discovered favorite medium, though I need to convert my sketch book to 80lb or heavier paper so it doesn't get all crinkly again. When I paint with ink I pick out how many different values I will need, take that many little dixie cups and dilute the ink to the different values I need with water.

I think the way it scanned adds to the looks. And the wrinkles to. It makes it dark and grimey but in a good way.

By the way Nightmares and fairytales is an awesome set of books. I hope you've read more then the first book. The art is by a different artist in each one but the stories are great. I don't know how into this you are but I thought you should know there is a Annabelle doll. She's too cute. [link]
